Carnal Knowledge

The film explores the parallel romantic lives of two friends, Jonathan and Sandy, as they navigate the changing sexual norms of their time. Starting as roommates at Amherst College, they both lose their virginity, with Sandy's first experience being more methodical and passionless, while Jonathan's is more passionate but with a hidden girlfriend. Throughout their lives, they continue to seek what the other has, leading to a series of relationships that leave them unsatisfied. As they enter middle age, Sandy is with a domineering woman, while Jonathan is with a beautiful but troubled model/actress. Jonathan's journey ultimately takes an unexpected turn.
