In the city that never sleeps, a gifted singer and her composer partner pursue their passion for music, capturing the attention of a powerful Broadway producer who catapults them to fame.

A struggling singer and her pianist/composer partner work in small nightclubs in New York, hoping to make it big. A Broadway producer discovers the singer and helps her land a role in his show, but her partner feels left behind and becomes jealous of her success. The partner's insecurity and jealousy lead to a breakdown in their relationship, ultimately resulting in a divorce. Two years later, the partner tries to win the singer back, but she has moved on and is set to marry the producer.
