Documentary filmmaker Stephen Schaller rediscovered and restored the oldest surviving film made in Wisconsin, THE LUMBERJACK, in the early 1980s. His 63-minute film is a journal/essay that explores the making of the Wausau, Wisconsin classic, featuring interviews with the last surviving cast member and relatives of others who appeared in the movie. The film also includes moving remembrances of the people and town of Wausau, as well as the on-set accidental death of a top cameraman.
