In ancient Gaul, a magical potion gives the inhabitants of a single village superhuman strength and speed, making them a threat to Roman control. Julius Caesar, frustrated with the situation, proposes a challenge inspired by the Twelve Labours of Hercules. The Gaulish chieftain sends Asterix, a short but intelligent warrior, and Obelix, a strong sculptor, to complete the tasks. Caesar's scribe, Caius Tiddlus, serves as their guide and referee. The duo must outperform athletes, hypnotists, and other skilled individuals, as well as navigate bureaucratic obstacles and defeat fierce animals in the Circus Maximus.
