In this movie, an undercover cop named Terry Martin poses as a fence to infiltrate a gang led by Simon Bacig. When Simon invites Terry to a party and asks him to bring his wife, Terry is assigned a rookie cop, Susan Reece, to play the role. As they pretend to live together, Terry must navigate his growing feelings for Susan while keeping his true identity hidden. Meanwhile, the FBI warns Terry that there may be an informant within the police department, and he discovers that Susan already knows Simon.
