The show featured solo numbers and collaborations with guest artists, including Ronnie Hawkins and Bob Dylan. Martin Scorsese's camera captured the band's interactions onstage, while he also interviewed the five members offstage about their experiences on the road, revealing the friendships, harmonies, and wear and tear that came with life as a touring musician.
