The Lady Objects background

The Lady Objects

Ann Adams, a junior partner, navigates her demanding career as a lawyer while adjusting to her new life as a wife, all while her husband William Hayward works as a draftsman.

Ann, a brilliant lawyer, marries William, a draftsman, and they have different aspirations. William becomes a singer at a nightclub, earning more than his previous job, and expects Ann to be content with being a housewife. Ann, however, is a career-driven woman who refuses to give up her law practice. The couple's relationship deteriorates, and they eventually part ways. William is accused of murdering a woman who died accidentally in his apartment, and Ann, determined to clear his name, becomes his defense attorney.
