A stunt skydiving troupe, consisting of Mike, Joe, and Malcolm, travel the United States performing at events. Mike, the veteran, takes risks, while Joe, the business manager, is risk-averse. Malcolm, the novice, looks up to his senior partners. Their stop in Bridgeville, Kansas, is significant as it's Malcolm's hometown, where he was born and raised. After his parents' passing, Malcolm was sent to foster care and lost touch with his maternal aunt and uncle, Elizabeth and John Brandon. Despite this, Malcolm contacts his aunt, who invites the trio to stay at their house, using the excuse of renting out a room to a college student.
