Harry Holt returns to Africa to lead a large ivory expedition, accompanied by his womanizing friend Marlin Arlington. Holt also hopes to convince Jane to return to London, but she remains loyal to Tarzan. Tarzan protects Jane from wild animals and prevents the expedition from plundering ivory from elephant burial grounds, but is shot by Arlington. Nursed back to health by apes, Tarzan must rescue Jane and the expedition from violent natives.

Tarzan and Jane's peaceful existence in the jungle is disrupted by a group of safari expeditioners, putting their home and Jane's safety at risk.
