In Boston, a corrupt cop named Nick hides stolen gold with his partner Hayes. However, Nick changes his mind and decides to turn himself in, citing his love for his wife Julia. But before he can, Hayes kills him. Nick finds himself in the afterlife, where he's recruited by the Rest in Peace Department to work with agent Roy and protect the living world from the undead.
