Red Beard

Young Dr. Noboru Yasumoto is summoned to a rural medical clinic in Koishikawa, where he is expected to start work immediately. Yasumoto is dismayed by this turn of events, having expected a prestigious position as a physician for a shogunate. He is assigned to work under the stern Dr. Kyojô Niide, nicknamed "Red Beard," who runs the clinic with strict guidelines and treats the poor and disadvantaged.
