Set in the Midwest during the Great Depression, Paper Moon follows con artist Moses Pray and his unlikely partner, Addie Loggins, a young girl whose mother has just passed away. After meeting at a funeral in Kansas, Moses agrees to transport Addie to St. Joseph, Missouri, for a fee. As they travel from town to town, they use every dishonest trick to make money, all while searching for the ultimate score. Along the way, they encounter a colorful cast of characters, including an exotic dancer and her poor companion, who become embroiled in a plan to free themselves from their boss's grasp.
