One Girl's Confession background

One Girl's Confession

A subtle drama by Hugo Haas that explores the intricate relationships between characters through their physical features.

Mary Adams, a woman with a troubled past, works at a waterfront restaurant where the owner mistreats her and cheated her father out of a fortune. After stealing $25,000 and serving a short sentence, Mary finds a new job at a restaurant owned by Dragomie Damitrod. When he gets into trouble, Mary helps him by revealing the hidden money's location and lending him what he needs. However, circumstances suggest he stole the money, leading Mary to attack him, thinking she killed him. She later discovers he's alive, donates the money to an orphanage, and surrenders to the police. Despite the chaos, Mary seems headed for a romantic future with a fisherman named Johnny.
