Goodbye, Mr. Chips

Arthur Chipping, a dedicated teacher at Brookfield Boys' School, is nicknamed "Ditchy" by his students due to his dull demeanor. His life takes a turn when he meets Katherine Bridges, a music-hall actress with a questionable past, who affectionately calls him Mr. Chips. Despite their differences, they fall in love and get married, with Katherine giving up her career to become Mrs. Chips. She struggles to adapt to the school's rules and social norms, while Arthur's standing at the school begins to change. The onset of World War II brings further changes to the Chips' lives and the school.
