Pete, a postal worker, is on the cusp of retirement when he receives a call from an acquaintance about his estranged best friend Joey, who is facing cancer surgery. After Joey's passing, Pete is left with a package containing Joey's ashes, letters, and money, with a plea to fulfill his final wishes. Instead of a peaceful retirement, Pete embarks on a road trip in his old Chevy, following clues from Joey's letters to change the course of his life.
