Bob Tree, a clumsy Canadian, navigates the Yellow Pages alphabetically, applying to various jobs and consistently messing them up. He finds employment with Mr. Butler, who teaches him an unconventional crash-course. Bob becomes the caretaker and housekeeper for Jacques, Anne Jamieson, and her three unruly children, using his unorthodox methods to manage the chaotic household.
