A card shark is brutally lynched by a mob of drunkards after being caught cheating. But the violence doesn't end there, as the men who took part in the lynching start to meet their own gruesome ends, each death mirroring the method of the original lynching. As the killings continue, suspicion falls on the original mob and a mysterious new preacher, Rev. Jonathan Rudd, who has recently arrived in town.
