Wong Fei-Hung and his sidekick Chung arrive in Peking as the Empress announces a martial arts contest featuring the Lion Dance. Accompanied by his cousin Yee, Wong's young and Westernized aunt-by-adoption, he faces a romantic rival in Russian diplomat Tumanovsky, who knew Yee in school. Wong also has a martial arts rival in the brutal Club Foot, who beats up his father. Club Foot works for Leung Fun, who will stop at nothing to win the contest.
