In December 1958, a professional gambler named Jack arrives in Havana to organize a high-stakes poker game. While on the ship, he meets a beautiful woman named Roberta and falls in love with her. However, their romance is short-lived as Roberta and her husband, a Cuban revolutionary named Arturo, are arrested and tortured. Despite Jack's efforts, he is unable to keep Roberta safe from harm and she is forced to continue supporting the revolution.
