In the small town of Emmanuel, the annual Christmas pageant is a beloved tradition, but for Beth, it's just another boring event. However, when Mrs. Armstrong, the longtime director, becomes incapacitated, Beth's mom, Grace, takes on the role. Despite being viewed as an "average" mom by the town's alpha moms, Grace hopes to do a great job and prove them wrong. However, her plans are disrupted when the notorious Herdman children, known for their bad behavior, start attending church and take over the pageant, inserting themselves into the main roles.
