In the movie, Marinica, a sailor, rushes to Timisoara to marry his pregnant girlfriend Imola before the birth of their child. However, the anti-communist revolution breaks out, and chaos ensues. Meanwhile, 15 years later, journalist Irenne returns to Romania to write about the country's progress since the revolution. Her story becomes intertwined with those of Marinica and Imola, as well as a lost child born during the revolution.
