Eddie's life changes overnight when his song is sold to a Broadway producer and he lands a role in the musical. He invites his fiancée Molly and her sister Pat to join him in New York. The producer is impressed by Pat's dancing skills and offers her a spot in the show, relegating Molly to a job selling cigarettes. Meanwhile, a wealthy friend of the producer, Chad, sets his sights on Pat.
