Tristana, a young woman, is left in the care of Don Lope, a respected and honorable man, after her mother's passing. Despite his virtuous nature, Don Lope has a weakness for women and becomes infatuated with Tristana, eventually seducing her and making her his lover. However, as Tristana exercises her newfound freedom, Don Lope must confront the consequences of his own ideology.
