Sunrise

In a small Pacific Northwest town, a legend speaks of a sacred forest demon called The Red Coat, where believers sacrifice live animals for eternal life and the demon's power is nourished by the blood of the sacrificed. The Loi family, a Chinese immigrant family, farms a small plot of land and faces harassment from Joe Reynolds, a powerful man with a violent and racist mentality. His daughter, Rachel, is an exception, as she doesn't share her father's beliefs. When the Loi family defends their property against another of Reynolds' associates, they find an injured man hiding out, who later helps them and requests Edward to believe he is The Red Coat.
