Silver Linings Playbook

A former teacher, struggling with his mental health, returns home and tries to rebuild his life, only to find himself entangled in a complex web of relationships with a free-spirited woman, who's also grappling with her own personal demons.

Against medical advice, Pat Solatano Jr. is released from a Maryland mental health institution after a minimum eight-month stay, despite being diagnosed with bipolar disorder and having a restraining order against him due to a violent incident. He moves back in with his parents in Philadelphia and tries to manage his condition through healthy living and therapy, but struggles to cope with his emotions.
