Hitler moves Rommel and his Army Group B headquarters to Normandy in November 1943 to defend the French coast against the anticipated Allied invasion. Rommel is dismayed by the incomplete Atlantic Wall fortifications, slow construction pace, and poorly-trained defending units. He urges his troops to hasten construction and begs for veteran divisions, including panzer and SS units, to lead a powerful counter-attack. However, Hitler refuses to release the panzer divisions and Rommel learns of a possible assassination plot against Hitler.
