NYPD Detective Daniel Madigan, a decorated but ethically questionable officer, is tasked with capturing Barney Benesch, a murder suspect, within 72 hours. His mission is complicated by his own personal struggles, including a troubled marriage and a lingering infatuation with his former girlfriend, Jonesy. Meanwhile, Police Commissioner Anthony Russell faces his own set of problems, including a racial brutality complaint, an affair with a married woman, and the discovery of his trusted colleague's involvement in a cover-up.
