Biography

Person Biography:

Susan Clark is a renowned Canadian actress born on March 8, 1943, in Sarnia, Ontario. She began her acting career at the tender age of 12, performing in local theater productions in Toronto. Clark's family soon relocated to London, where she enrolled in the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts to hone her craft.

Upon completing her studies, Clark made her London debut in the early 1960s, performing in various repertory productions. She also gained experience in on-camera work, appearing in multiple roles on the 1965 episode of The Benny Hill Show.

Clark's early success in London led her to Los Angeles, where she attracted notice with guest roles on TV shows such as The Virginian and Run for Your Life. She eventually landed a ten-year contract with Universal Studios, one of the last of its kind in Hollywood.

Throughout her career, Clark has played a wide range of roles, from dramatic parts in films like Coogan's Bluff and Valdez Is Coming to more lighthearted roles in TV movies like Something for a Lonely Man and The Astronaut. Her performances have earned her numerous accolades, including two Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe nomination.

In addition to her on-screen work, Clark has also made a name for herself on stage, performing in various productions in Los Angeles and beyond. She has been a dedicated member of the Rubicon Theater Company in Los Angeles, appearing in plays such as The Glass Menagerie, Dancing at Lughnasa, and A Delicate Balance.

Clark has been married twice, first to actor Phil Garris and then to actor Alex Karras, with whom she had a daughter, Katie. Karras passed away in 2012 due to kidney failure.
