Pablo Escobar, a low-born man who gained wealth and power through drug trafficking, hosts a VIP party at his ranch in 1981. As Escobar's fame grows, so does his criminal empire, and he becomes a target for DEA agent Shepard. With the Colombian government striking an alliance with the USA to stop Escobar, he unleashes a war to eliminate his enemies and pursues his ambition to rule everything.
