Shankar, a diligent worker, toils day and night to fulfill the desires of a wealthy businessman with underworld connections. The businessman, Raja Saab, wants to marry Gauri, a young and resourceful woman. However, Gauri falls in love with Shankar's picture instead of Raja Saab's, and agrees to marry him. On their wedding day, Gauri is shocked to see Raja Saab and refuses to continue the ceremony. She is then locked away forever. Eventually, Shankar and Gauri elope, but are caught by Raja Saab and his men. Shankar is brutally beaten and thrown to his death, while Gauri is taken back to Raja Saab's mansion to prepare for their wedding.
