In this poignant drama, a Japanese family embarks on a traditional quest to secure a marriage for their daughter Noriko, only to discover that she has a different vision for her future, leading to a series of unexpected and thrilling events.

In postwar Tokyo, a seemingly idyllic household is disrupted by societal changes. The family's 28-year-old daughter Noriko, who works and has her own friends, is pressured by her family to marry a 40-year-old bachelor. However, Noriko decides to take control of her own life and forge her own path, much to the dismay of her family.
