Two unemployed actors, Withnail and Marwood, escape their squalid London flat for a countryside holiday at their friend's uncle's cottage. However, their idyllic getaway turns disastrous as relentless rain, lack of food, and limited survival skills create chaos. Complicating matters is their uncle's unsettling interest in Marwood.
