Set against the backdrop of WWII in Central Europe, a small Jewish community's village fool warns his neighbors of the impending Nazi invasion, advising them to create a decoy deportation train to escape to Palestine via the Russian border. As some Jews don German uniforms, they begin to adopt Nazi attitudes, while others are infected with communist ideology. The Russian border draws near, heightening the tension.
