Ollie is left in charge of feeding policies to junior minister Ben Swain, one of the "Nutters" eager to take power when the Prime Minister resigns. However, Ben's ambition is short-lived as he is humiliated on "Newsnight" by Jeremy Paxman. Meanwhile, Ollie's new girlfriend Emma, who works for Shadow Minister Peter Mannion, tries to impress by stealing one of Ollie's ideas for their immigration policy, but things don't go as planned.

The newly vacated Prime Minister hands over the reins to Ollie, who is tasked with navigating the complex web of government, while Ben Swain, a charismatic up-and-comer within the "Nutters" faction, seeks to capitalize on the power vacuum and boost his own profile.
