In 12th-century Lombardy, a young archer named Dardo is forced to resist the oppressive rule of German Count Ulrich, who had previously stolen away Dardo's wife. Five years later, Dardo's son is also taken, prompting him to rejoin the rebellion. Along the way, he falls for a lovely hostage named Anne, adding a romantic element to the lighthearted swashbuckling adventure.
