In a dystopian future where dreams are taxed and submitted to the government, a Dream Auditor named James Preble is sent to investigate a 80-year-old woman, Arabella Isadora, who has been delinquent in submitting her dream recordings. He discovers that she has been recording her dreams on VHS tapes instead of the required digital chips, and that her son is the CEO of the advertising agency behind the scheme to insert ads into people's dreams.
