Eric Bishop, a middle-aged postman, is struggling to cope with a series of crises. His partner has been released from prison but hasn't returned, leaving him to care for his two stepsons who disrespect him. To make matters worse, one of the boys is hiding a gun and his student daughter asks him to reconnect with his separated wife.
