Land and Freedom

In the sweltering summer of 1936, a disillusioned young communist named David flees his hometown of Liverpool to join the battle against fascism in Spain. He finds himself among an international group of anti-fascist fighters, the POUM, but soon becomes disillusioned with their tactics and seeks out a new group of comrades in Barcelona. However, he soon finds himself embroiled in a conflict with other anti-fascist groups, leading to a crisis of identity and purpose.
