Hercules and his wife Iole settle on the island of Ithaca, serving as courtiers to King Laertes. When a sea monster threatens the fishermen, Hercules volunteers to slay it, and with Prince Ulysses, they successfully defeat the monster. However, a storm transports them to Judea, where they meet the Danites who are vassals to the Philistines. With their ship wrecked, Hercules decides to travel to Gaza to request a new ship from the king, but gets a hostile reception due to mistaken identity as Samson, a fugitive rebel.
