When Sach Jones inherits a neglected farm in the South, he becomes the focus of a group of feuding hillbillies seeking to determine if he's a member of the Jones family they've killed or driven away. As Sach keeps his identity hidden, a group of criminals, led by Big Jim, arrive to use his farm as a hideout from the law. The locals mistakenly believe the gangsters are part of the Jones clan, including Sach.
