A young boy named Yong Joel Curtis discovers a fawn and raises it as his own, naming it Red. As his grandmother's ranch faces financial struggles, Yong Joel decides to train Red as a racehorse, with the help of Andy McBride, in an effort to sell his beloved pet and save the ranch.
