In a Mexican town, the lives of its inhabitants are intertwined by family honor, greed, and machismo. The wealthy Don Alejo is on the verge of selling the town, but needs to acquire a key building, a whorehouse, to finalize the deal. The house is owned by a man and his daughter, Manuelita, who is gay and struggling with her identity. Manuelita's father, a flamenco dancer who cross-dresses, wants to sell the house and leave, but his daughter wants to stay. The return of Pancho, a hothead controlled by Don Alejo, complicates the situation as he begins to defy his master and flirt with Manuelita, putting himself at risk of being labeled a "homosexual".
