The crew of the USS Elmira is working on a top-secret project, Operation Honeymoon, involving a smart computer called MACS that can predict missile trajectories. However, Lieutenant Ferguson Howard has a different idea - using MACS to predict games of chance, such as roulette. They plan to test MACS' abilities at a casino in Venice, transmitting data through Morse Code light signals. But their plan is sidetracked by romantic distractions, including Jason's reunion with his ex-girlfriend Pam and Fergie's encounter with Julie, the daughter of a naval admiral.
