The biographical drama follows the remarkable rise of Glenn Miller, a talented musician who overcomes humble beginnings to become a legendary bandleader, only to meet a tragic fate while traveling over the English Channel in December 1944.

Glenn Miller, a talented but struggling trombone player, joins a band led by Ben Pollack after his composition impresses the. leader He eventually proposes to his former girlfriend Helen and they move to New York, where his band becomes a global sensation with hits like "Moonlight Serenade". Glenn leaves his comfortable life to enlist in the army during World War II, traveling to Europe to boost morale. Tragically, his plane disappears during a Christmas concert in Paris in 1944.
