In the small town of Taft, California, Jack Dundee, a timid banker, is haunted by a 1972 high school football game against powerhouse Bakersfield. Despite a perfect pass from quarterback Reno Hightower, the game ended in a tie, leaving Jack with a lifelong regret. Desperate to relive the moment, Jack must convince Reno and the entire town to replay the game, leading him to take drastic measures to make his dream a reality.
