In 1951, a mysterious portal was discovered at a British site, emitting signals that potentially led to an earth-like planet 620 light years away. A top-secret research facility was built to monitor the phenomenon, but things took a turn when the signals grew stronger and a giant baboon-like creature emerged from the portal. The creature was followed by swarms of insect-like crawlers, overwhelming the armed guards. As chaos erupted, Doug, a scientist, grabbed his son Trent and a young woman, Jenny, and fled to a nearby military base, where they hoped to find safety in a secure bunker.
