A former heiress, reformed after a stint in prison, discovers a new path in life and romance with someone from a vastly different background.

Lydia Thorne, a wealthy and privileged girl, clashes with Dan O'Bannon, a determined district attorney, due to her reckless behavior and a theft by her maid. After causing the death of a policeman while speeding, Lydia is convicted of manslaughter and seeks revenge against O'Bannon. However, her prison experience transforms her into a kinder and more compassionate person. Meanwhile, O'Bannon overcomes his personal struggles and finds a new sense of purpose. Ultimately, Lydia finds happiness with O'Bannon after initially rejecting him.
