Long Ago, Tomorrow

A soccer player turned writer, Bruce Pritchard, faces a life-altering diagnosis, becoming a paraplegic after a mysterious disease leaves him paralyzed from the waist down. Despite his family's concerns, he chooses to live in a church-run home for the disabled, initially struggling with the rules and forming connections with fellow patients. However, his life takes a turn when he meets Jill Matthews, a polio patient engaged to another man, who returns to the home after realizing family life isn't for her. With the support of kindly staff members Sarah and Bill Charles, Jill helps Bruce open up, and romance begins to flourish between them.
