Pilot John Dooley and his crew of four are stranded in the uncharted wilderness near the Quebec-Labrador border after experiencing icy conditions in their Douglas C-47 Skytrain. Unable to make radio contact, they land on a frozen lake and must wait for rescue in extreme winter cold with temperatures plummeting to -70 degrees Fahrenheit.
