Paris, 1967. Jean-Luc Godard, a renowned filmmaker, is transitioning from revolutionizing cinema to becoming a revolutionary. He's making "La Chinoise", a film that's more a political statement in favor of Maoism than a traditional movie. His co-star is Anne Wiazemsky, the 16-year-old granddaughter of writer François Mauriac. The two have been dating since 1966 and get married in 1967. Anne admires Jean-Luc's originality, intelligence, and boldness, while he loves her freshness and admiration for him.
