Godard Mon Amour background

Godard Mon Amour

Jean-Luc Godard's romance with 19-year-old actress Anne Wiazemsky ignited during the production of "La Chinoise" in 1967, ultimately leading to a marriage between the renowned film director and the young actress.

Paris, 1967. Jean-Luc Godard, a renowned filmmaker, is transitioning from revolutionizing cinema to becoming a revolutionary. He's making "La Chinoise", a film that's more a political statement in favor of Maoism than a traditional movie. His co-star is Anne Wiazemsky, the 16-year-old granddaughter of writer François Mauriac. The two have been dating since 1966 and get married in 1967. Anne admires Jean-Luc's originality, intelligence, and boldness, while he loves her freshness and admiration for him. However, their marriage is put to the test in 1968 when Godard becomes increasingly involved in the revolution, leaving Anne feeling neglected.
